Frequently Asked Questions:
I have a spa service scheduled but I am not feeling well. Should I still come in? No. If you are getting sick, a massage,facial or any body treatment may actually make you feel worse by speeding up the release of toxins throughout your body.
If I have a rash or cold sore should I have a spa service? No. Because most rashes and cold sores are contagious, it is better to wait until your skin has healed.
If I am getting a waxing, is there anything I can do to prepare? The hair must be at least 1/4 of an inch long to get a clean wax. Also, never apply body lotions before waxing. If the skin is too moist, the wax can not grab and pull the hair.
Do you perform couples massages? Yes, massage services can be performed in the same room or in separate private rooms.
Can I bring my baby with me while I am getting an eyebrow wax?Unfortunately children under the age of 12 years are not allowed in the spa. However, we welcome children of all ages in the salon. No children may be left unattended and our staff is not responsible for watching children.
Do I need to fully undress for my massage? For maximum relaxation, most spas recommend that you remove your underwear for the massage, however, do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Does it matter if I have makeup on if I am getting a facial? All facials start with a cleansing of the face. It will not matter if you have on makeup. The Esthetician will remove it prior to cleansing.
Can I get a pregnancy massage if I am almost due? All we ask is that you are past your first trimester (12 weeks).
Does your updo include a wash and a blow dry? No. We ask that your hair is washed and dried (straightened if curly) before your service. We will be more than happy to wash and dry your hair for an additional cost.
I lost my gift card, what should I do? If we are able to track your gift certificate we can replace it.
Policies and Procedures:
Cancellations. In today’s hectic world, unplanned issues come up for all of us. We recognize this fact, but if you need to cancel your scheduled appointment, we ask that you contact us by phone or e-mail a minimum of 24 hours in advance. This allows us adequate time to re-fill the open appointment time. In the case of an emergency, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule the appointment.
Appointments cancelled or broken without a minimum of 24 hours notice will be charge 1/2 the price of the service.
A “no-show” appointment will void a gift certificate or a package session or be charged to the credit card on file.
Late Arrivals. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate our other appointments. Full payment for your session will be expected.
Missed Appointment Without Notice. Clients who fail to show for appointments will be required to pre-pay for future services. A “no-show ” appointment will void a gift certificate, a package session or a pre-purchased voucher.
Illness. If a client presents with signs and/or symptoms of illness that contraindicate massage (fever, undiagnosed rash, contagious infection), the session will be rescheduled. This is to protect the health of both the client and the therapist.
Terminating Service. Certain conditions will preclude or end the session:
- Contagious illness: including colds, flu, rashes, etc.
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- If the client’s needs are beyond the scope of our practice.
- Requests for sexual or other inappropriate activities. This will not be tolerated and the client will not be rescheduled if this occurs.
Gift Certificates. Gift certificates may be purchased for any dollar amount and must be presented at the time service is rendered. Gift certificates are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. The purchase of a gift certificate does not guarantee an appointment and all appointments are subject to availability. We urge all gift certificate bearers to schedule their appointments as soon as possible upon receipt.
Cell Phones. We want to focus on you during your session. For that reason, we ask that you turn off your cell phone during your appointment.
Payment. Payment is due at the time of service. Prices are subject to change without notice. We accept:
- Local checks
- Master Card
Returned Checks. There will be a $40 fee for any checks that are returned by the bank (for non-sufficient funds).
Children. We are unable to watch children in the spa. Please make proper arrangements for the supervision of your children during your session.
Consideration for Clients Who Are Minors. We give special consideration to clients who are under the age of 18.
- Clients between 15 and 18 years old must present written permission from their parents or guardian prior to their first spa service.
- Clients under 15 years old must have a parent or guardian present at all times.
Privacy. All client files are confidential except when subpoenaed by a court of law. The conversations you have with your therapist will remain confidential. Client lists and email lists are confidential. We do not share our client lists with outside companies.
Scope of Practice. We do not diagnose illness, disease or any other physical or mental disorders. Any information imparted by the therapist in the course of treatment should not be construed as such. It is recommended that you see a qualified professional for any physical or mental conditions you may have.
Medical Insurance. We do not accept medical insurance at this time. We will happily provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company upon request.
